CSE/IT Department Students of AITM (Axis Institute of Technology and MANAGEMENT) Shine at Vihaan 8.0 Hackathon

We are proud to share that Kashif Ali Khan, Archit Srivastava, and Faisal Ansari, second-year B.Tech students from the Computer Science and Engineering / Information Technology (CSE/IT) Department of Axis Institute of Technology and Management – Axis Colleges, recently participated in Vihaan 8.0, one of North India’s largest 24-hour hackathons, organized by IEEE DTU (Delhi Technological University).

The prestigious event saw participation from over 400 teams representing top institutions across the country, challenging students to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.

It offered an enriching experience in advanced problem-solving, collaboration, and presenting innovative ideas before experienced mentors and judges.

Our students’ project tackled a major challenge in the field of Artificial Intelligence: the high cost of accessing computational power for training large models.

They proposed a decentralized AI training platform that utilizes unused GPU resources from personal devices such as laptops, PCs, and smartphones.

Using federated learning, models are trained locally on individual devices and later combined on a central server, thereby eliminating the reliance on expensive cloud GPUs.

To ensure sustainability, the system incentivizes contributors through cryptocurrency rewards, supported by a digital crypto contract and a test token mechanism, making it a scalable and community-driven solution.

The students credited their success to the continuous support and motivation from the CSE/IT Department, which played a crucial role in preparing them for this achievement.
