Shuttlecock Showdown: Axis Engineers Ace Badminton Championship Axis College recently witnessed a flurry of action and athleticism as its Civil and Mechanical Engineering students took to the court for an exhilarating badminton competition.
The badminton court became a vibrant arena as students from both engineering branches engaged in spirited rallies and powerful smashes.
The competition fostered a sense of healthy competition and sportsmanship, allowing students to interact and bond outside the classroom setting.
In the Badminton Tournament, there were matches in Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, and Women’s Singles. In the Women’s Singles category, Ms. Bushra Hashme, a third-year Civil Engineering student, emerged victorious, with Ms. Jyoti Sharma as the runner-up. In Men’s Singles, Mr. Nihal from the second year of the Civil Engineering Department won the title, while Mr. Soyeb Ali from the Mechanical Engineering department secured the runner-up position.
The Men’s Doubles winners were Mr. Deepak Pal and Mr. Vikas Patel, both from the third year of Mechanical Engineering, while the runners-up were Mr. Mohd. Usman Gani and Mr. Arya Kartavya Roshanlal, both from the final year of Civil Engineering.
Director Dr. Ashish Malik emphasized the value of sports, saying, “It’s wonderful to see our engineering students excel both academically and athletically.
This badminton event promotes a healthy balance and a vibrant campus life.”The *Heads of the Civil Engineering Department, and the Mechanical Engineering Department, *Mohd. Shariq*, jointly expressed their pleasure at the students’ participation in the badminton competition.
They stated, “It’s encouraging to see our students from both departments come together with such enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Engaging in physical activities like badminton is crucial for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and fostering camaraderie.
We commend the students for their energy on the court and believe that a balanced approach to academics and extracurricular activities contributes significantly to their overall growth as future engineers.
The winning students were felicitated with trophies, medals, and certificates by Director sir and Head of department, boosting their morale and recognising their achievements. The event was a grand success, fostering teamwork, innovation, and a spirit of healthy competition among the students”.
