Students of Axis Colleges Visit The Times of India:
A Glimpse into the World of Media Axis Colleges MBA students recently made an educational visit to The Times of India and received firsthand information on media operations, corporate communications, and real-time business reporting.
The visit was part of the institution’s industry-academia interface initiative, meant to boost the practical exposure of students to business settings outside classwork.
Attended by members of the faculty from the Department of Business Administration, the students were given a warm welcome by the corporate and editorial teams at The Times of India.
The session commenced with an informative presentation regarding the history, evolution, and operations of the news business, with specific emphasis on how The Times of India, one of the most respected publications in the country, conducts its business in the age of digital media.
Students visited different departments, such as editorial, marketing, and advertising, and saw the working process and content creation processes.
Media branding, digital revolution, and crisis communication—essential takeaways for potential future managers of any sector—were imparted by the team from TOI.
Students also engaged with veteran journalists and media managers in a Q&A session, where they posed thoughtful questions regarding media ethics, corporate collaborations, and the use of technology in contemporary journalism.
The tour ended with a group photo and a memento of appreciation being handed over by Axis Colleges to the TOI team. The experience was enriching and inspiring, as testament to Axis Colleges’ focus on holistic, experiential learning for its MBA students.
